President, Jenny Private and Scheme Manager, Leah Norman were honoured to attend the Sussex Community Foundation Tea last week with the High Sheriff of East Sussex and Mr Michael Chowen at Stade Hall in Hastings. The tea was to celebrate those working for the community in Hastings and the surrounding areas. It was lovely to have the chance to network with other local groups from the voluntary sector.
The Sussex Community Foundation raise funds for and make grants to local charities and community groups across East and West Sussex and Brighton & Hove. They’ve raised a total of £23.5 million to support Sussex communities since 2006. They manage funds of money on behalf of Sussex donors, connecting them to the groups and communities they want to support. They’ve given over 4,000 grants in partnership with those donors totalling £10.9 million to around 2,000 charities and community groups.
Homecall received a grant from the Sussex Community Foundation for a projector, screen and speakers to enable us to deliver presentations more professionally and the equipment is also used at our training sessions which we are very grateful for.
